Picking Tires 4 Brat

Featured Replies

Howdy All, I am getting some 15" wheels soon and need to start thinking about tires for them. . . The car is stock and I like to drive it year round in FWD, RWD, and 4WD. I don't want all seasons - I'd rather be good on dry pavement and o.k. on dirt/snow or vice-versa. I also want to minimize expense. Can anyone here point me in the right direction? Any good recommendations? Should I think about used tires or not?

Thanks for reading my generic post. :burnout:

On my 15x6" mags I got 215/60R15's. I picked this wide size as I wanted the bulging tire wall look (which turned out well :D)

But for snow/mud/gravle you might want something more like 185-195... As for brand, well I got a local Australian brand, so can't help you there.. Oh, and btw, the 215's make the Brat handle amazing on the pavment! And because they are just over 25" bit (23" is stock) the gearing isn't bad at all.

215, eh? I definately want something a little bigger than stock diameter. What sort of tread would do well on the road for dd'ing but rally well too?

Instead of starting a new thread about the same thing . . .

Can anyone point me in the right direction for purchasing cheap-o tires (like walmart brand) I'm looking for good experiences w/ cheap brands and models.

Thanks for any input.
