Hi, I'm new here. I feel like I'm at the wrong forum because I don't really know much about cars or how to fix them, but I have a few male friends that do. Hopefully you can help me figure out what's wrong so I can see if they can fix it. I've searched these forums, but haven't found an answer to my problem.

My 1990 Legacy Wagon blows a lot of heat from the floor vent. So much heat that when I'm wearing sandals it actually feels like my feet are burning. I've tried playing with all the climate settings to see if I could get it to go off, but nothing has worked.

I've tried turning everything off, I've tried setting the temp to cold, tried turning it to AC, tried setting the flow to the front vents. It just always stays on the floor and very hot.

Nothing seems to come out of the vents at all when I switch it to them - even if I try to turn it to AC. Still just hot air from the floor and nothing anywhere else.

If someone could give me an idea why this might be happening, I'd really appreciate it.

there is a cable operated door that works the temp. If you look under your glove box towards the center of the car. It is the only cable there. It attaches to a lever. once you find it move your temp setting. if the nothing moves, then the prblem is at the temp control. If the housing moves and cable doesnt, the clip may be broken. You can manually adjust the temp by moving this lever.
