Will a 98 EJ22 swap into an 99 Forester?

I know what to do about the exhaust, a/c lines and power steering.

 

Forester is a manual trans, will the 1998 EJ22 bolt up and work fine with the ECU? saw some discussions in a search but no good answers on the forester.

It should bolt up fine, the EGR valve may give you problems. If the Forster has one, but the 2.2 does not, the computer will be looking for it. The 95 2.2 is a direct bolt in and the last year of the non-interference engine, I do believe.

what bolt pattern does the forester EJ25 have?

 

i know the 2.2 changed between a 6 and 4 bolt pattern around 1999, was wondering if the 2.5 did the same.

 

anyone know if the forester EJ25 in 1999 had an EGR system on it?
