July 19, 200619 yr Hey Subie Lovers. Subarus and Datsun HoneyBees,... Little by little, the 70's economy cars that no one wanted are becoming classics. Who would have thought that our niche passion would eventually start to go mainstream? Some of you know that I write an online design column (blog) for Bravo. This week it's all about vintage Japanese cars and USMB gets a plug. Check it out when you have a chance and please leave feedback in the comments section if you like what you see. This is a great forum and I'm proud to be a part of it! LINK: http://www.bravotv.com/blog/designblog Bryan
July 25, 200619 yr Sweet blog! I would have to say that I agree 100% with the ugly, gorgous statement. My parents used to have one of those old Terks, 2wd, but I still remember that car fondly. I plan on finding one of the 4wd ones some day!
July 26, 200619 yr are you sure you're not my good twin? I've thought the same thing for many years. I've had people question why I choose the era of cars that I do, and I've come to realize that in many car collectors' cases, they buy and fix up cars from their childhood. This is my generation's "childhood" era, so it's not really a shock to me to see it. This may just be the first generation that has an extensive collection of Japanese vehicles, since this is the time they first started to have explosive growth.
