rear hatch spoiler

Featured Replies

I got a rear hatch spoiler for my 88 gl wagon  . Now all I have to do it, is get it mounted to the hatch. I tried aluminum threaded rib nuts, but the threads stripped out; they weren't strong enough. Then I tried going thru the back way, but the drill would come out on a radius; so that's out. The holes I have, on the hatch now, are drilled to 1/4", for the rib nuts. So, how do you guys get those cool looking spoilers to stay on there, anyhow? Help!

Thanks

Most of those that have them, got them from the factory.

I put one on a car that didn't come with it. just measured it about 6 times, held it up to make sure everything lined up. and drilled 4 holes all the way through. then put long bolts and nylock washers on the back. worked great! it's been on there for about a year now, lots of time at ~75mph....

if you do it that way, make sure you cut off any extra bolt...otherwise it'll hack up your weatherstripping :-\

Okay, thanks. I'll give it a try. I was just worried about coming out on that radius. I'll let you know how it worked out.
