Buddy Posted July 27, 2006 Share Posted July 27, 2006 yesterday i called a place that details cars. that lead me to one question. the guy told me that he could do the engine for free. i think its a great idea. what i want to know is what do i have to be careful with in the engine in regards to the water thats gonna be sprayed in there. the suby is ea82 carburated. please let me know what i need. #89 Posted July 27, 2006 Share Posted July 27, 2006 B, Don't sweat it- most of these guys use a steaming system or low pressure spray after some type of 'engine foaming cleanser'... ASK him! A couple of guys have used the Castrol SuperClean method, but that'll cause rusty nuts and bults later on due to the heavy alkali content. Have him cover an incomings to the carb airfilter and put a bead of silicone around the distibutor cap where it meets the rotor base (good idea if you're going to play with the AWD in wet/muddy conditions anyway). if you are in a pinch/rush a sandwich bag with a rubberband around the distributor cap will do.
