SubeeTed
Hi ALL! Well....I've had this K&N panel filter in my '97 2.5 DOHC GT for awhile now. I've always toyed with the idea of going to the slavage yard....getting another LOWER part of the airBox, drilling large holes into the box and fender well! ANYONE out there do this? Just what IS on the other side of the metal of the fender? Is there an airspace between it, and the inner fender well? Or is this idea a waste of time because I live in MAss, and in the winter ALL this junk will just make a mess of things???? Thanks, SubeeTed
Manarius
Inside the fender is the Intake Resonator. If you're in Mass, I'd keep it only because if it rains a bunch and you suck air into your intake, that's not a good thing.
Subie Gal
air into the intake is a good thing. water into the intake is not a good thing.... if you live in a wet climate, i'd leave it be. Jamie
theflystyle
some people just gut the bottom of the air box completely and have an entire bottom of the filter exposed
