Ignition Issues

Featured Replies

I have a 1987 5-speed GL station wagon with th 1.8L engine and it seems to be having issues with the ignition system. I had just fixed my cadillidic converter because it had become clogged and on the way back from driving it to make sure it was fine the RPMs died, the car did not shut off, the RPMs simply dropped to zero and pumping the gas pedal did nothing and after I stopped it wouldnt start again. anyone have any advice?

Have you actually checked for spark? Checked all your fuses?

Could be a lot of things - timing belt could have broken which if it's the drivers side belt would cause the distributor to not turn, and thus no spark.

Fuel injected or carb?
