gasman
I found one on Ebay for pretty cheap but it has the ECVT transmission, I have no experience with one of these. Are they any good and exactly what is it?? Thanks, I know one of you guys can fill me in. I assume it's a Electronic Control Variable Transmission, is it one of those with a big belt and a pulley? Are they worth a damn?? :-\
#89
:-\ Here's a basic but pretty accurate review of the ECVT... http://auto.consumerguide.com/Auto/Used/reviews/full/index.cfm/id/2351/act/usedcarreviewroadtest/ I see the majority of available ECVT Justy examples with a 'needs transmission work' byline. Would personally stick with the 5 Speed for ooomph, better MPG control, and most importantly enjoyment. Although I wound up with a carbureted, the fuel injected '91-'93 would also provide additional consistency and a couple of more horses. (Under 100 HP, every horsie counts!) idosubaru
if you can find one and install it, it's not terribly difficult to swap from auto to manual. so if it's in great shape and a good deal it might be worth it even if the auto makes you puke at first.
