High Amp Alternator ??

My Dad's alternator just failed so I lent him mine off of my 88 GL Wagon. I'm thinking of replacing mine with one that puts our more amps.

 

Does anyone know if higher amp units are readily available and what price I may expect to pay for one?

oh yea, the stock unit is a 60amp unit, IIRC. the 90amp XT6 alt can be fit in there, but it's not the easiest conversion. however, the 100amp GM alt from the late 80s is a pretty common conversion. I beleive there's a big thread on it here in the old gen forum.
