FlyB0y
My 81 wagon decided to quit on me yesterday... its spraying gas all over inside the carb like flood out amounts... any suggestions? Ok ... how is it "spraying"? every time you hit the accelerator? (or move the throttle linkage?) If your getting excess gas, check the float. It might be sticking and keeping the float needle from closeing, thus flooding. How farmiliar are you with carbs to begin with?

Frank B
Sounds like time for a rebuild and a good cleaning. Take some pics at each step if your uncertain about getting it back together. It's a good time to adjust the idle mixture too. I rebuilt the carb on an 86 hatch I had, and jumped from 22 mpg to 37 mpg!!!
