Will the drive line on an 86, EA-81 4spd d/r hatch fit on a square body EA-82 wagon with a 5spd, push buton 4x4?

Nope - too short. All the EA81 drivelines are shorter than EA82's - especially the Hatch - it's actually shorter than all the others. The 5 speed is a shorter transmission.
