Oil pump questions?

Featured Replies

The oil pump on my XT6 is leaking, but I still have good oil pressure, need new pump or just gasket? And if I need to replace the oil pump where do you find them. Everyone I checked with does not have oil pumps for the xt6, are the other EA82 oil pumps compatable with the ER27 engine?

They can leak either from the oil pump shaft seal or the O-ring type gasket that seals between the pump and the block. If yours has more than 60k on it, it probably leaks from the oil pump seal, and when that happens, it generally means that the shaft is worn so it will never seal right again. Hence, a new pump is probably the only way to go.

Have you tried 1stsubaruparts.com or any of the other discount OEM sites?

That's what I was afraid of, I tried the local parts stores and some online suppliers. I'll give the 1stsubaruparts.com a try. Thanks
