rabbit_39
Does having error code 35 affect the engine performance? My '88 Wagon 5speed with pushbutton 4x4 stumbles at low rpms and have no power on the low rpm. Once it hits high rpms, it'd take off like a banshee. Right now I have to be in first gear until 20mph or so before I shift to second. I have to stay in second at least until 35mph or faster before I shift. If I shift any earlier, the car would slow down before it accelerates again. Would this be caused by having error code 35? Thank you very much, Andre S
Cliff
Code 35 is the canister purge control solenoid valve. I would think the only way it could affect your idle is if the valve is leaking vacuum between the intake manifold and the carbon canister. Check the hoses in the circuit for vacuum leaks also. However, a bad solenoid alone will give you the 35. Check the resistance between the terminals-should be less than 100 ohms.
