bad PCV valve cause excess moisture in crank case?

Featured Replies

Is this the case? i've heard it mentioned a few times, although i cant quite see how it would..... it could explain my condensation problems though.

Also, has anyone tried aftermarket pcv valves? Subaru wants NZ$60 for one and its going to take 3 weeks to get here, but i'm reluctant to bother with an aftermarket one unless someone has had good luck with them....

u can clean them too, they usually get gummed up, do NOT pay that much for a stupid PVC, there likes 2.99 at walmart or parts stores, there an extremly simple device, aftermarket one would be fine

yeah already cleaned it, not sure its still playing up but figure i may as well replace it anyway.....

it does seem a ridiculous price.....for a pipe with a ball in it....... but i seem to remember others saying aftermarket ones were nothing but trouble?

that was thermostats

AND PCV valves. The aftermarket ones stick open easily and pull too much vacuum. At least, that's what searching has pulled up.
