Bo13mwz
"04" Outback Sedan H-6 ; 61,000 miles. All of a sudden on my Outback sedan, when I turned the A/C on, low speed aka (1 blade on the digital pic of fan display) I hear a hissing noise coming out of the vents and the A/C has quit blowing "cold". Am I just looking at re-charging the freon and the hissing noise is a way of telling me it is time for A/C service or is it something else major. All opinions appreciated, and Thank you in advance. Legacy777
If you're low on refrigerent, the expansion valve works extra hard, which is more then likely what you're hearing the hissing from. I'd start with adding refrigerent, and see if that fixes the problem.
