Lift points

Featured Replies

I'm going to change my pads soon and was wondering where the lift points are on my 2003 OBW.

For the rear you can use the diff.

Up until recently I was using the frame rails on either side. But there is a jack plate located in the center, just past where the plastic 'skid plate' is. It's about 6x6 inches square, works great!

Pads are suprisingly easy, don't forget to lube the slide pins while you're there.

Hope that helps.

Good to know.

I've been using the frame rail, about 6 inches forward of the back of the front door, to get the front and back wheels up together. While I knew the diff would be fine, I missed the front plate.

Thanks,

Jack

Thanks. What about using a shop lift? The big hydraulic ones.

I use the jacking points on the back, and on the front I use the frame rails (not the ones under the door but the ones under the car)just a little forward and in about six inches of the front jacking points. I cannot get the swing arms to line up on all four jacking points if you can that is the correct way to lift. Always check and make sure you dont get on any lines or cables.

Thanks. What about using a shop lift? The big hydraulic ones.
