Fuel hose for '98 Outback

Featured Replies

Anybody know a repalcement for the fuel hoses near the fuel filter?

Need to know size and source.

Thanks in Advance.

I used 5/16" (1/4" too small) SAE something fuel injection hose. Make absolutely sure you get FUEL INJECTION HOSE. There is fuel hose for carb vehicles that is not rated for the pressure of fuel injection. I bought Thermoid brand in a 10 foot or so spool of eBay for like $25. The auto parts store will want like $4-$5 a foot for this hose.

Thanks a bunch - Goodyear is marked "5/16 fuel injection". Suggest also changing out the clamps as the old ones come apart and you could loose the "nut" end (happened to me). And another trip to the auto parts store.

Let the engine cool way down before you start as you will loose some gas when you remove the old hoses. This will flow down onto the engine and could burn.

I've used some BMW fuel line to replace these hoses before, it was actually the cheapest fuel injection hose I could find in my area at the time. I think I paid about $4/ft.
