Fan blower problem

Featured Replies

Fan works fine first time I turn it on. Stop somewhere and turn the car off and restart after a few minutes (gas up) and the fan acts like its not getting power. Turn the car off and leave it for a while and the fan will work again when the car is started. Anyone have an answer to the reason for this?

It may be that the heat buildup from the engine is causing problems with the heater resistor? Mine was replaced by the PO at a cost of about $50.00.

the RX will do that. the fan wont come on til the car has been on a while

I had a fan blower that would do almost the same thing. Would start ok & then would not start sometimes. My vehicle had about 200K miles on it at the time. Pulled the blower motor & was full of carbon dust from commutator brushes. Got a new one for around $30 - $40 & problem solved.
