hi all. im trying to find out how to read codes on an 86 gl, ecu light is on, the car was running slugish, i repaired the wire to the o2 sensor, it runs good now , but the ecu light is still on, thanks in advance, Ivan

remove the panel under the dash, where the fuse box is...

 

the silver box with the red light is your ECU.

 

search around, its actually pretty easy to read the codes and "decipher" them

If the ECS light is on, the light on the ECU will be blinking. Remove the lower panel, there should be a light on the computer on the front of it.

i didnt relize how the o2 sensor could affect a carburator,

what the heck is ignition pulse system, it keeps flashing "dash dot pause" i think this is elevin, the manual says ignition pulse system

Ignition Pulse System... I´m not Sure... it´s Somethin´ about the Crank Angle Sensor.
