yo everyone, my '88 brat is having a few mods and i want to have all the guages and lights, but my concern is where is the sender for the oil pressure, as i dont actually have oil pressure guage as standard due to mine being a UK spec brat, and is the sender a mechanical or electrical

The oil pressure sender (or low pressure switch as you probably have) is on the oil pump. Its an electrical thing. Look down at the oil pump and you should see a wire running to a little sensor screwed into it. That's the pressure switch.

The pressure switch screws into a different port than the guage sender. The idiot switch is on passenger side of the pump, and the guage sender screws into the bottom. This is the proper way to do it on an off road rig - SS braided line to a remote sender:
