Yeah i finally got a way to lift my impreza, not the best way for paying for it (credit card) but i am..

 

1. i got forester struts, would i need longer brake lines?

 

2. will the rear forester strut top fit the impreza wagon?

 

3. again brake lines all round are they long enough?

I just just forester struts on my OBS... they worked fine, no new caps, not new brake lines, nothing, you should be good to go... you might get a wierd noise from the sway bar/springs but... you'll have that

i just swapped my springs for some forester springs. when i need to do struts i will probably use outback of forester struts. that write-up that was posted is perfect. i wish i know about that when i did mine... the springs gave me 2" of lift and the 27" tires gave me 1 more inch for a grand total of 9.1" of ground clearance. that is .3" more than a jeep wrangler X.

 

andyjo: i read your wright-up on the 4wd switch but i cant figure it out on my 06... do you know if it can be done? know of anyone who has done it to an 06?

ok ok i'm enjoyng it too much, its awsome, i still have to go back to the rear struts and add some washers to the top so i stops knocking, other than that shes ready for Pine Barrens...

I'd suggest loosening it up with the wheel stil on the ground, at least to break it free.. because it's impossible to remove with the whole strut assembly out of the car... it's actully the 1st thing i did.
