For the past 6 months the alarm system on my 98 OBW is being set off by other people locking or unlocking their cars. When I am at the mall it goes off at least once and my next door neighbor sets it off every morning. Do I have a failing alarm system module? What to do... Other makes and models not just sub's set it off

Have you been mean to it? Maybe its trying to run away from home.

The system is factory.

Have you tried "re-sycning" the remote to the car? I had to do this when I got a replacement remote for the 98 LGT.

Is your battery good? I have lots of strange problems when mine failed. Most notably was the radio and wipers cutting out unexpectedly.

 

Both are a bit of a stretch, but easy to check.
