Does anyone know which 2.2 is a clean switch for my 98 Forester with very sick 2.5?

 

I have heard that the 95 auto 2.2 is the best. Can anyone confirm and tell me which others are compatible?

The 95 auto ej22 would be the better choice, in that it is non-interferance. But If you keep on top of timing belt intervals that isn't a concern.

 

Any obd2 ej22 auto will work in it. AFAIK the autos were the only ones with egr systems.
