April 25, 200718 yr curious if anyone could shed some light. on my 144 mile drive today i got 23.6 mpg. not even a week ago i did new plugs wires cap rotor all filters oil change. i have a ea82 spfi with a dr 5 spd. is this the average mpg or is there something else i could be missing? thanks in advance for any help Didn't by chance retard the timing when replacing the cap/wires? Or knock off a vacuum line? The performance should be degraded if so, Also mileage.

The performance should be degraded if so, Also mileage. the mileage wasnt good before the tuneup but ill check vaccume lines and what not. how to i check to see if i "retarted" the timing? haha
April 26, 200718 yr If you turned the distributer when you replaced the cap, If you can turn it by hand without loosening the hold down screws you may have. To check it you'll need to get ahold of a timing light
