kaptainkr Posted May 14, 2007 Share Posted May 14, 2007 After much research and troubleshooting, I am going to replace the transmission neutral position switch on my 98 Legacy Outback (AT). Could someone give me a description and location of the part? Other posts have said it's relatively easy to do. nipper Posted May 14, 2007 Share Posted May 14, 2007 Neutral saftey switch. NSS It is easy to do. Its under the car on the transmission, very straight forward. Legacy777 Posted May 14, 2007 Share Posted May 14, 2007 For the AT cars, the neutral switch is part of the inhibitor switch, and while I believe it can be removed from the outside of the transmission, it may not be fun.
