If you got a weekend to try something consider K&W Block Seal from CRC. I have spoken with a few people that say this works. It would cost you maybe $100 dollars for everything and some time.

Now I know that some people would never try this approach but i thought it was worth mentioning.

Take care,

John

ref: K&W CRC block seal

I tried it on an EJ22 with a very small HG leak

(small bubbles in the overflow bottle after a drive)

Followed the extensive directions to a T

It does take two days to do. - Curing time for the sealant.

Flush flush and flush again and again.

(I plumbed a by pass for the heater core)

No Such Thing as an Easy Job

Sorry just one lame man's experience.

Yea I liquid glassed a Ford Thunderbird one time. Lasted about 6 months. First time it gets hot again thats all she wrote!

Also! Make sure you pull the breather cap off the passenger side of Radiator top 12 millimeter square plastic head or you will get air in the coolant system. with cap off fill with 50/50 i recomend water wetter it gives you about 20 degrees cooler engine temps and don't start the engine untill it is full.

Believe me, I know. I live on a lake. I'd probably boil a couple minnows if I put well water in there....
