Fitted this 10um filter from mcmaster.com into the power steering return to reservoir on 1994 Subaru Legacy Wagon.

Why a filter?

 

I'd rather get an inline cooler.

I put the filter on because it has no filter. Not sure how hot the fluid gets normally...

 

On the '94 I put just the filter for now. On the '00 and '96 I have both filters and coolers. This runs amsoil syn atf and I flush it regularly and this is the backup for the backup vehicle.
