door won't open

Featured Replies

I have an 87 GL wagon and am having issues with getting the drivers door open. It has not done so from the inside for quite a while now but has recently had the lock cylinder fk'd with and now won't open from the outside either. Any ideas?

I tried to do the coat hanger thing to see if I could at least pop it but quickly realized that I am no car theif. Maybe if i had a clue it would work. Otherwise how possible is it to get to the inside of the door with it closed from the inside of the car?

My legs aren't that long, I can't continue to step over the front seat from the back for much longer.

Thanks

Sorry Joe, no real easy answer.

You have obviously tried unlocking the door with the key from the outside.

To get the door panel off, you will need to remove the drivers chair.

Four bolts and move it to the rear area.

Screws in the arm rest, the lock plate and pop clips

Lift up (window down) - whoop dar it is.

Raise the window then unplug the switches and

see what is not moving.
