Antenna Transplant

Featured Replies

ok guys...here's what's up.

96 legacy LS with a telescoping antenna. at least i USED to have a telescoping antenna.

What's the protocol for transplanting a non-telescoping mast onto a car with a factory telescoping mast?

i'm looking at something like this http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=MRA&MfrPartNumber=44US01R&CategoryCode=3531

it's one of those little rubber whip antennas.

any help is appriciated guys....as always.

i've done this quite a few times on subarus with electric antenas... just remove the motor for the electric one and put the new one in, connect the coaxial cable and you are on

Next time, while junkyard "hunting", I can testify that a Dodge Crapvan antenna (pre 1992) will match the contour of your rear fender.

I find those "replacement el-cheapo" things to be of dubious quality.
