adding to Subaru family-which one?

I have opportunity to buy 97 Legacy GT wagon from dealer at KBB price, nice car w/ 51000 miles. Or 99 Legacy Limited Anniversary Edition w/ 94000 miles for 2k less, but will spend in tires/brakes/timing belt, etc.

Which one?

97 GT all the way!

Thanks for the quick feedback. Unfortunately, I just spoke with the salesman and the car is gone.:-\ What do you think about the 99 Legacy? He's asking 6200k for it, but I know I'll need to put about 1200k into the car (nice shape, guy just hasn't kept up with the brakes, tires and the timing belt is about due...).

Hi wnysubob99 and welcome! Yes..which one! Both have the opportunity to be great cars. If you're not already familiar with some of the particulars of Subaru's, might want to check out torque bind and head gaskets, just so you know a few things to check out when looking at those vehicles.

edit: oh I see one of them sold already. Another source for leads would be buffalo.craigslist.org Also autotrader.com has some listings.

Yes another western new yorker....excellent...soon they will allll be assimilated.

Thanks for the lead on craigslist. I hadn't thought of it and there are lots of cars on there in my price range. I'm in Batavia so we're not too far from you.

OK cool Batavia yes that's not far. You could also check out http://www.psrautosales.com They're in Akron, sort of near Darien Lake 6 flags. I bought my '00obw from Pete there a couple years ago. Seems like a good place and Pete was really friendly. They always have maybe a dozen Subaru's in stock.
