84 GL wagon 4X4 with four headlights.

I have updated the old candles to four new Hella lights, 55/65 watt low beam and 55 on the highs. has anyone tried 100 watt on the high beam without changing out the wiring or upgrading the relays?

I ran 85/110 watt in my 86 GL for about a month, didnt like the color of the bulbs so I changed them.. Didnt do anything to the wires.. didnt melt em or anything

I have heard told that the extra heat can cause the headlight glass to crack if you get sprayed with cold water from a puddle.

 

Believable, considering that those bulbs pull about 8 amperes!
