92 Legacy Wagon with broken door lock

Featured Replies

It seems that the time has cmoe for the little stuff to start giving me fits. Put the key in the door the other day, and it turned 360, Im guessing that Ill need to dig into the doors and find out what is giving the problem, though I haven't had much luck finding an exploded view of what's going on inside. Anyone know where I might be able to find something that would give me a good idea whats going on inside the doors of one of these? A dealer exploded view would be great if I could get ahold of one.

Hello f0t0grafer and welcome! I think the attached diagram is for a '96; not sure how close it will be to yours...

thanks, what a quick response.

Seems that when I put the key int he lock these days, it spins a full 360 and no unlock/lock

Will have to pull it apart this weekend.

Only thing missing from your attached pic is the door lock cyl.

Most likely the rod that connects the cyl to the actual lock mechanism has broken the plastic retaining clip. This would let the rod fall out and the lock cyl turn like you described.

Do you hear any excessive rattling from inside the door?
