subarari Posted August 20, 2007 Share Posted August 20, 2007 Like the title says I just confirmed that my AC compressor comes on intermittently while my heater in on. Picture yourself living in a spot where your car heater is on 8 months of the year, if the air conditioner compressor did not cycle once in a while the compressor seal would go bad, this "cycling" is normal. Gloyale Posted August 20, 2007 Share Posted August 20, 2007 He's right, it's supposed to come on when the "defrost" button is selected. It provide ciculation of the lubricant in the system, preventing drying of the seals. And also it helps dry moisture out of the air as well for defrosting. subarari Posted August 20, 2007 Author Share Posted August 20, 2007 So I checked closer to see if it came on with the heater button or the defrost button depressed and sure enough your right, it only comes on while the defrost button is in.
