Where is the thermostat located on a '99 OBW with a 2.5 engine?

Follow the lower rad hose to the water pump, in the first housing is where the thermostat lives.

Thermostat is in the thermostat housing, circled in red. When replacing, a new thermostat gasket is required as well:
