calebz
Moved to old gen. Please do not request that people email you solutions. It deprives any future users with the same issue of a possible source of information. And information is what we're about here.
cobcob
You can get some tachs that have an inductive pickup that clamps over a plug wire... I've got one in my Brat and it seems to work OK... It's stopped working now because I disconnected the battery and it reset something inside it (it's a digital not analog tach)
SubaruWagon87
When I put a tach in my 83, the black wire was ground, red was tapped into a "when key is on" hot, white tapped into a wire that was hot when the gauge lights were on, and the green wire to the positive side of the coil. Hope that helps.
