I have a 1989 RX and I'm going to convert it to a manual. Is there anything I should know before, it has an automatic. I know about swapping the insides of the diff to a 3.9 setup, as I've done a conversion before, but not with a 4eat. Thanks.

Which manual are you putting in there?

 

 

It would make the most sense to put the RX D/R (87+) in there.

The RX awd D/R is my goal, but, until I get one, I might just put my dual range in there and get another regular 3.9 diff.

4EAT is very heavy so having a couple extra people to help is a big plus. I removed one from my '89 RX by myself...

 

With the 4EAT, I tried to jumper the neutral safety switch in the wiring harness from the tranny but it never worked so I wired in a pushbutton. Other then that, I can't think of anything else....
