BRAT Motor/Tranny Mounts

Featured Replies

How would I know if my BRAT has bad mounts? I already have motor vibration.

Hi This is Jerry, if your brat has an EA81 with a 4 speed i have motor mounts and tranny mounts. Let me know we can strike up a deal. Thanks Jerry

Jerry I appreciate it. Gonna try and figure out if they're bad or not. The idiot I bought it off of said he replaced them but I am willing to bet he fouled them up like he did everything else on the car.

Whats the signs they are bad?

-Kyle.

Tranny mounts are easy to tell. I had to replace them in my brat. You can really feel the tranny moving a lot when you shift. You can see them from the engine compartment, have someone release the clutch while in gear a small amount. if they are bad the tranny will lift until it hits the stop.

Try that or if you're by yourself, you can grab the engine and wiggle it left and right (with it not running of course). Maybe the prior guy didn't tighten the nuts down on the mounts?
