Featured Replies

hey got my weber on and just wondering how to wire the electric choke also how to wire the plug that went to the old hitachi so that the car will run. the plug im talking aobut gose to the magnetic solinoid thing on the side of the carb. and when i unplugged it form the carb the car would die but now it has nowhere to go. so dose any one know how to rewire that and the chocke thanks.

PS> the engine is an ea82 the car is an 86 gl wagon no CPU. the carb is a 32/36 dgev thanks again Rob.

Rob:cool:

As I don't have a Weber I can't help ya on the choke.

But I'm thinking the wire to the solinoid your talking about is for the anti- dieseling on the Hitachi. (is it on the front drivers side of the Hitachi?)

Which will cut your fuel when unplugged while idling. (at least it does on mine)

If the Weber does not have that feature than you can proly ignore it....(but would have to insulate it from accidently grounding out)

I'm sure by morning someone with far more Weber knowledge than I will have your good answer.

You need a key "on" 12 volt to the choke connection. Follow the choke wire off of the Hitachi to it's connection, that's the terminal you need to use on the vehicle side of the wiring.

Most Webers don't have the anti-deiseling valve, so nothing else to wire up electrical.
