EJ20T HP questions

Featured Replies

I am looking to install a EJ20T in my sandrail. I will be using a Megasquirt ECU system with a crank trigger style ignition. I will be using an Outback motorsports header with an open exhaust.

Stock they are about 220HP correct? What do I need to do to put it around the 250 range? More boost? Bigger Injectors??

Emissions and exhaust and stuff will be trimmed off... just looking for plenty of HP to spin those paddles.

Thanks!

exhaust work should get you there easily with maybe some small boost increases. NASIOC should have all sorts of stickies and FAQ's for this.

type in NASIOC at yahoo and you'll find the National Subaru Impreza Owners Club or whatever it is...it's huge and they are all about upgrading, turbo's, engine swaps and stuff over there. it's a very different atmosphere over there and they have information that you'll find hard to find here - like upgrade/turbo related stuff. stuff like you're asking they usually have easy to find stickies and FAQ's.

You will get that hp figure with just a good aggressive tune and a bit more boost.

I have a '96 mode ej20G (wrx) in my Brat?Brumby, with an aftermarket ECU and a TD05 turbo it is making 205kw or 285 bhp on stock injectors (380cc) and internals.

The squirt will be great, search the MS forums for tune maps.

A manual boost controller would help get it spooling a bit faster,

go the biggest intercooler you can for safety.

Best of luck,

Matt
