pvc rerouting, with custom cleaner?`

Featured Replies

so, on the stock system(ea82) there is a hose coming out of each valve cover, they t and go into the pvc valve, on the manifold, just below the carburetor, and then they t again, and one hose is fed into the air cleaner. thats correct right?

can you just t it and only run it into the pvc valve, and skip the t that feeds it into the air cleaner? can i just stick a clamp on pvc valve, and filter, on each valve cover, and be done with it?

im runing a weber, with minimal vacc lines, and i cant quiet figure this one out. dont want it to leak even more :drunk:

The reason it runs off the second t to the air cleaner is to provide ventilation through out the motor. Positive Crankcase Ventilation, =PCV. I'm sure you can run it to a t and bypass the part that goes to the air cleaner, but I honestly don't knoiw what effects (good or bad) it will have on the motor. You don't know till you try. good luck

it runs to the air cleaner to keep emissions from escaping into the air.

having it to the air cleaner helps to suck it out of the crank case, but not all that necessary

as long as it vents the crank case.

blowby gasses will cause acids and sludge to form in the oil over time

you will need to route at least one valve cover to the pcv valve

(on the ontake)

there is definately a negative effect. increased crank case pressure. leaking seals/gaskets. at least run it to a vent filter. K/N makes them as well as other companys.

yah, i just want to make sure it doesnt gointo the intake at all. i got rid of the EGR and i dont need crank oil and vapors and all that stuff, gumming up my carb, and perty clean intake.

you can use standard 5/5 heater hose for pcv routings
