January 1, 200818 yr i am rewiring my ea82t loom and on the ECU wiring diagram i have it says there is a yellow wire going out of the IGNITION COIL that goes "TO I/P". i have found the yellow wire but what does I/P stand for and where is it located? cheers in advance! dave
January 1, 200818 yr What year? But basically that is the tach pulse wire. I/P may mean instrument panel. The other places that wire branches and goes to are the ECU, TCU(if 4eat auto equipped), the Cruise control, and the Trip Computer(maybe Trip ODOMETER?, TO?in Canada?Or Aus?)
January 1, 200818 yr Author hey mate cheers for the fast reply! it is out of an 88 turbo wagon, 5 speed 4wd. the engine is in a buggy so instrument panels etc aren't being used. i just had a squizz at my ecu pinout diagram and i found that pin #40 (ecs lamp output) also goes to I/P so i think you are right in saying instrument panel. does this mean i can remove these wires then?
January 1, 200818 yr Pin 40 is the ECS lamp light. You can get rid of it or wire in a lamp a an indicator. May help to alert you to trouble later. But it isn't needed
