January 9, 200818 yr There should be a decal on the bell housing for the engine number. That is, if it hasn't worn off or fallen off due to age. I haven't seen one on the engine that is actually stamped into the metal. Good luck
January 9, 200818 yr Author Thanks bigtime. I never woulda found it. There was just the smallest hint of gold metallic showing. I wiped it off, and it was in perfect condition, very readable.
January 9, 200818 yr Hey Eric... on the EA81 the engine number should be just forward of the EA81 casting ID. If standing in front looking at the engine it will be between the crank pulley and the intake manifold (and a little left) on the block. Ta
