January 13, 200818 yr Having a hard time getting into 1st & reverse. Have tried to adjust clutch out, makes a difference at first but same thing happens within a few shifts. The clutch feels solid. The transmission fluid is WAY overfilled, does this make a difference?
January 13, 200818 yr Pull the rubber plug on the bellhousing, have someone else start the car with it in gear with the clutch depressed. See if you can hear any squeeling noises coming out of the bellhousing. What might have happened is the pilot bearing is seizing up. This will keep the input shaft spinning when the clutch is pushed in, when it shouldn't.
January 13, 200818 yr The transmission fluid is WAY overfilled, does this make a difference? It might. Drain it and refill to the proper level. Sometime I will add a tad more, if the diff is very noisy. But "WAY" overfilled is bad. A drastically overfull differential could blow out the axle stub seals, or the input shaft seal, either i bad.
