February 9, 200818 yr I changed the plugs today. The brat was running great. I drove it to the store and everything was fine. on the way home i hit a speed hump kind of fast. It wasn't anything outrageous but did jar the brat slightly. when i came to a stop right after i noticed the engine shut off. Now it will not idle at all. It will run perfect if you give it gas but as soon as you let off the rpms drop straight down to 0. I checked most of the vacuum lines and they all seem fine. spark plug wires are nice and tight. Any ideas I'm lost......
February 9, 200818 yr Probally was enough of a jolt to knock a piece of junk loose and it is clogging the idle jet(s). Seen it happen on a few vehicles and/or equipment. Carb rebuild or replacement is in order. May get lucky and blow it out using some air directed at the various passages and jets, but........??
February 9, 200818 yr Thank you Skip, I keep forgetting about that... Wires leading to it are old, and they can short out or break. If that happens, you have no fuel delivery for idle.
