'95 Outback Rear Bumper Removal

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how the rear bumper comes off these things? There's a bunch of screws for the cover on the top side that you can see, but can't access. That tells me that the whole bumper needs to come off as a complete assembly, and then the cover.

Any details appreciated, including tools required, as the car is not in my possession. Thanks...

The cover and bumper have to come off as a unit. There are a few small bolts on the edge of the cover in the wheelwell. Then take out the carpeted floor panels in the trunk on both sides of the spare tire compartment. Under them you will find 2 17mm bolts. Take them out and the whole bumper assembly slides out towards the back of the car.

Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you the FSM procedure for the rear bumper. The FSM is for my 97 but should be similar for your 95.
