Subie vs. Toyota

Featured Replies

This is an old story....several months old. Back in November, my older Subie (2000 Outback wagon limited) was parked in its parking spot at my apartment complex on a Friday evening while I was doing some work in my office. My neighbor knocked on my door to tell me that my car has been hit and he described the car that backed into me. It sounded like my other neighbor's boyfriend, who is an impatient driver. He picked up my neighbor and did not know where he was putting his car's front bumper. He hit my driver's side panels and knocked them off and some dents on my doors plus some damage to my fenders. He did not leave any info with me or knocked on my door to let me know. I was not a happy camper. 2.5 weeks later and $2500 worth of damage, I got my Subie back. Unfortunately, I do not have pictures to show the damage.

Now, I have my new one....I explained to him that I was somewhat generous and nice with the last one but if he hit my new one....I will be very  .

This is the older car that belonged to me.

Sounds like either the car that supposedly hit yours has never been back in the neighborhood or you aren't the confrontational type, there should have been some kind of evidence left behind on one of the cars to back up your neighbors claim.Did you approach the neighbor or contact the police? Why should you pay for this if you have evidence?

I had photographs of the damage but they are deleted from my digital camera after I showed them to the cops and body shop. I did file a hit-and-run before I realized on who did it. I did confront the boyfriend and after he came back. His insurance paid for everything. The car has been back in the neighborhood.

My parking lot is not well-designed. It is very hard to pull out of the parking spots.
