2004 Outback wagon - squeaky brakes

Featured Replies

I know squeaking in and of itself is not an indication of worn brakes - but does anyone else have "squeakers?" I know it's not the squealers that indicate they need to be replaced.

This car has over 100K miles on it and we've never had this problem until now. The dealer says the brakes are fine.

thanks :)

Even if the brakes are working effectively, I wouldn't define ones that squeak/squeal as "fine".

When were the brakes last worked on (mileage)?

What was done?

Were OEM parts used?

Does the noise change with brake pedal pressure?
