June 12, 200817 yr What are the dangers of lifting 2 inch at every strut upper spring seat ? There is now a standard thin rubber seat. People suggested me to change these for thicker (2 inch more) hardrubber rings. Can I expect more problems than a higher point of gravity and more wear at the axles ? Anything more ? If it was that easy , why I never read about it ? Please a reply by an "lift" expert. Thanks !
June 12, 200817 yr Author You can accomplish the same thing by installing a set of Forrester struts. Subaru is like a white elefant at "Place de la Concorde" where I live. No way to get something other than local solutions.
June 12, 200817 yr here is my impreza with forester struts you could also have a machine shop extend the springs or make new longer ones, or better yet, fabricate blocks that go between the strut top and the car here is a complete lift system that they sell, you could order one for your vehicle, i know brazil is quite far to ship, but boxes do get there.. i send gifts to my mom every 6 months

That lift kit is made by the forum member Scott in Bellingham and sold on his site, but it's for an EA82 car, so it won't do you any good. Currently there aren't any EJ lift kits. Scott is making up a lift for his Legacy here though. Not sure how that translates to the Impreza.

Order them online. If you just lift the strut tops, you may get funky camber if you don't make you're spacer with a bit of angle. No angle=pushing top of strut outward.

No angle=pushing top of strut outward. Right, but the imp/legacys have camber adjusters and can be pretty much leveled out with 2 inches of lift.

June 12, 200817 yr Well, the Outback Sport had a little more lift to it from the factory, right? Though not 2". Would struts from an OBS be an easy helper to get higher with no worry of fitting, or were those cars different only by having taller tires than other Imprezas? I'm new to the Impreza world and know very little about them.
