July 28, 200817 yr 97 subaru Legacy - the drivers side Automatic down switch doesn't actually drop the window automatically. even when i hold the button then keep pushing past the first stop into where the window should activate express down. anyone know where the fault in that is? Thanks for the help!
July 28, 200817 yr The switch is a common failure point. Cleaning the contacts inside the switch sometimes corrects that. There may be a broken wire in the door jamb also.

July 29, 200817 yr To remove the door panel you may have a few screws to remove. Use a small putty knife to feel for the plastic pins along the door panel and carefully pry them out of the holes in the door. I'm not sure, but you may be able to remove the switch panel from the door without removing the door panel.
